In 2022, 266,948 employees at 2,256 Ontario public-sector employers were disclosed on the province’s sunshine list. The average disclosed salary was $124,938 and the median was $112,439 — the disclosure covers only employees above the $100,000 threshold in force that year, not the entire public-sector workforce.
Compared with 2021, the list grew by 22,492 names (+9.2%, from 244,456 to 266,948), and the average disclosed salary rose 1% from $123,742.
